Customizing Membership Welcome Messaging

Cause Machine provides a standard welcome page for each new member to your community.  This page displays the membership tier name and some basic welcome text (provided by you).

Start by accessing Members / Memberships / Membership Tiers then select the specific membership tier you wish to edit the custom welcome messaging.  Find the field "Welcome Message" and add your custom welcome text.  This will display on the standard Cause Machine welcome page for new members.  This is a great place to say welcome but also to coach them on your recommended next step.  Don't assume they know what to do!

Additionally, you can add email confirmation text that will be sent to the individual immediately upon their membership creation.  Since people have a greater potential to save email this is a wonderful place to explain some key next steps or listing key resources.

PRO TIP: Make a bold heading at the top of the content on this page have them save this page for future reference.  This is your first best place to call them to action as a new community member.  Ask yourself, what would you be asking/looking if you were just joining?

And for those of you out there with a strong welcome strategy and a desire to do more than simply a text welcome, you can override the standard Cause Machine welcome message and send the member directly to a welcome page (a custom page you have created).  Many of our organizations desire to create a more nuanced welcome to their community giving their new members things like welcome videos, screen shots of key resources, and more.
