Sometimes members know each other's personal email addresses or contact information, but often times they don't. The members of your community may all live in a similar geographic area, or they may be spread out around the world. Cause Machine gives your members the ability to contact one another without having to publish email addresses for everyone to see. The direct message system on Cause Machine is a great tool for connection!
Begin by going to the Member Directory of your site. You can search for members or sort by Newest, Oldest, or Most Popular.
Once you find who you are looking for, Cause Machine will take you to that person's personal page, which includes a bio if they have included that on their profile, as well as any other information the member has provided. Near the bottom of the page is a field for sending a direct message to that person. The message will then be sent to that individual's personal email address that they used to sign up for membership.
In order to access these messages, members simply need to click on their profile picture in the top right corner, and navigate down to Inbox.
The Inbox will include a place to start new Direct Messages as well as previous conversations.
