There are many reasons to add subdomains to your community, but it does require a strategy. Subdomains are an excellent tool but they take work to implement and manage. Remember the example of the Amazon marketplace where multiple vendors are selling products in one known resource. Very similarly, you are creating a like-minded resource to collect great resources from your partner/member organizations and creating a greater accumulation of excellent resources. Here are a few benefits to launching subdomains for your community.
Credibility
Each subdomain organization will be vetted by the community admin to become part of the community and evaluated for the purpose or a stronger partnership. This evaluate process builds credibility with the larger audience of a community as you continue to build a trusted brand of native and partner resources. Think of it somewhat like the Amazon store where you have trust in items sold there even if sold from other vendors.
Reach
As your community continues to build a tribe of individuals engaging a unique audience, your larger audience grows as well. The reach of your community is a leveraged growth model where we all win as this community builds momentum.
Your community, in partnership with organizations like you, are constantly working to build a shared platform of resources and opportunities. This common goal and shared initiative serve to push the vision forward together of the parent community AND your organization.
A greater reach for us all depends on a leveraged growth model.
Revenue
Each community is designed with the purpose and tools for your organization to leverage revenue streams. Within the platform you can post products, host courses, and manage events. Each of these has potential revenue for your organization and can be cross-marketed through all of the parent community.
Each organization will set up and connect their Stripe merchant account to allow financial transactions to flow directly from end user to partner organization making the platform another strong means of sustained revenue for your organization.
