Creating an In-Person Event
Summary: This article explains how to create an in-person event in CauseMachine. Users begin in Mission Control, select "Create an event," select “In-Person Event,” and enter general event details such as dates, times, venue, and an overview. Users can upload a cover image, set up ticketing options including pricing and add-ons, and adjust availability settings. Finally, users choose event privacy, then save as a draft, publish, or continue to advanced settings.
Goal: Learn how to create and publish an in-person event in CauseMachine by entering essential event details, setting up tickets, and choosing privacy settings to successfully launch your event.
Begin in Mission Control and select Create an Event. Select In-Person Event.
Load General Information
Next enter general information to get your event initially setup. This step is one page and will take you just a few minutes to complete. Here's what you need to get started:
Basic Information:
Date Range and Time- enter the event start and end date and time (including time zone)
Event Name - what is the title you want people to see for this event?
Event Overview - basic over of event that displays on the event page
Venu Name and Address - where is your event being held
Event Details:
Upload a cover image - this image will appear on your main page for your event
Tickets:
Add Tickets - add at least 1 ticket if users should be able to register for your event. For advanced options (creating a pricing schedule, minimum quantities, etc.) go to the Attendee Pricing Page after completing the wizard. You can set the price of the ticket, quantity available, as well as the start and end time of the sales of the tickets. Tickets can be for the event itself or add on items you'd like your users to be able to purchase when they register (Ex. T-Shirts, special meals, etc.). Note - you can add additional tickets if needed at a later time.
Preview & Publish:
Select your Event Privacy - Public or Private (accessible through a link)
At this point you can Save as a draft, Publish Event, or go to Advanced Settings.
