Content vs. Blog - What's the difference?

On the CauseMachine platform, you may be wondering what exactly is the difference between Blog and Content. Let's break this down.

All Content (Blog Posts and all other Content Posts) are posted in "Content".

When you begin to Add Content (or a Blog Post), you'll give it a Title, decide the Type (Video, Audio, Document, Article). Next, you can add Text, and Exert, an Image, decide on Availability, and finally the Reach.

The Reach is where the split will happen between Blog and other Content Resources.

Within "Reach" you get to decide "Where do you want the content to appear".

  • Public - Public - Show in content library and specific categories (users who are not logged in can access - All Content with a reach of Public will appear in your Blog)
  • Community - Show in content library and specified categories (Content will be visible to your Community Members)
  • Category - Show only in the categories I choose (will not show up in Content Library or Blog)

On your Blog Page, people have the option to "Subscribe" to your Blog Posts.
